We went to the Portland Auto Show last night and very few autos impressed me like the Toyota FJ Cruiser and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Otherwise, none of the other new cars or trucks caught my attention. The Toyota FJ Cruiser just happened to be in my favorite FJ color, blue. It was a good thing that the knobs were removed by the show crew, I was planning on stealin them! There was plenty of leg room and shoulder room. It was as macho as I imagined. My wife doesn't like the rear tail lights, but I asked her when exactly would she be seeing them? I was not excited about the limited access to the small rear seating area. The suicide doors are quite small and would only accomodate a small gymnist type person. In our case, we seldom have people ride with us I wish there was more room in this rear seating area.
In addition to the FJ Cruiser, I was pleased with the 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. The 4 dr. has plenty of front and rear leg room. Hopefully Toyota will build an FJ of this size, akin to the old Toyota wagons. As far as I am concerned, the Jeep is not near as well built as the FJ, but it more practical and probably would either perform as well as the FJ or even better it.
